Kamil Majchrzak vs Mirza Basic
Head-to-head: Majchrzak 1-1 Basic
Kamil Majchrzak isn’t exactly setting the world on fire at the moment, but the Pole has been great at capitalizing on his opportunities. He’s simply winning the matches he should win and hasn’t really had a bad loss in 2022 yet. Mirza Basic qualified for the main draw, impressing in a grueling three-hour win against Mikael Ymer. His baseline game is not quite at Majchrzak’s level though and the Bosnian has usually performed better in faster conditions.

Malek Jaziri vs Laslo Djere
Head-to-head: Djere 3-1 Jaziri
Malek Jaziri owns a head-to-head win over Laslo Djere from Istanbul three years ago, but the 38-year-old is definitely nearing the end of his career right now. The Tunisian’s fitness can be exposed much more easily on clay too, a surface on which he lost seven matches in a row before coming to Marrakech. The retirement win over Jiri Vesely in the first round here wasn’t convincing either. It feels like at this point in time, beating someone as solid as Djere on a slow court is almost out of his range.

David Goffin vs Damir Dzumhur
Head-to-head: Goffin 1-0 Dzumhur
Damir Dzumhur saved two match points against Andrea Vavassori in the qualifying, eventually triumphing in a two-day thriller. His reward is a matchup against David Goffin, who’s still in a slump and desperate for confidence. The Belgian is capable of putting up a good performance every once in a while, but is mostly a shadow of his former self. However, his opponent is not exactly peaking at the moment either, giving us two players who would really fancy getting this one. Even at this stage of his career, Goffin seems to have more to offer.
