ATP Marseille Open Day 4 Predictions Including Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Jo-Wilfried Tsonga

Felix Auger-Aliassime Rotterdam 2022

Five extremely exciting Round of 16 matches are on the slate for Day 4 of the ATP Marseille Open 2022. Top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas is in action along-with last week’s Rotterdam winner Felix Auger-Aliassime. As ever, we at LWOT preview and predict all five matches for you.

ATP Marseille Open Day 4 Predictions

Benjamin Bonzi vs Pierre-Hugues Herbert

Head to head – First Meeting

The battle of the Frenchmen should be intriguing to watch. Benjamin Bonzi came through a spirited Kamil Majchrzak in the first round but Pierre-Hugues Herbert on this court is a different ask altogether. Serve and volley execution is going to be key once again for Herbert and the way he’s started this week, expect Herbert to not let Bonzi settle at all.
Prediction: Herbert in 2

Radu Albot vs Lucas Pouille

Head to head – First Meeting

That was certainly a refreshing result to see. Lucas Pouille played with immense confidence in the decider set against a tricky opponent. The Frenchman seemed to be very comfortable in his game at times and that’s a dangerous proposition for the rest of the draw. Radu Albot is playing well this year and the Moldovan showcased that in the last two sets against Dennis Novak. Expect a close battle with Albot just clinching it in a tight third set.
Prediction: Albot in 3

Tomas Machac vs Roman Safiullin

Head to head – First Meeting

What an absolute treat of a match Roman Safiullin played in his first round encounter. The Russian’s game was there for everyone to see and his sort of breakthrough year continues. Tomas Machac came through a three setter as well and the young Czech is just starting to find his feet on the main tour. A very tough choice to make here but I’m going with Safiullin to continue to march towards a well deserved quarterfinal spot.
Prediction: Safiullin in 3

Hugo Gaston vs Stefanos Tsitsipas

Head to head – First Meeting

Hugo Gaston has a habit of punching above his weight and Stefanos Tsitsipas would be wise to be wary of that. The Greek though is No. 4 in the world and is coming off a final appearance in Rotterdam. Post injury, he seems to be close to his best with a semi final showing in Melbourne. Gaston can unsettle Tsitsipas for a set but it’s tough to see him outplaying the Greek over three sets.
Prediction: Tsitsipas in 3

Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Jo-Wilfried Tsonga

Head to head – First Meeting

Félix Auger-Aliassime is the man in form and is the title favorite in Marseille. The Canadian finally won his first career title and that should free Auger-Aliassime’s mind even more. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga put up a solid performance and it was great to see but the Canadian is young and close to the best he’s ever played. Expect Tsonga to struggle to be consistently attacking against the heavy ball striking of Auger-Aliassime.
Prediction: Auger-Aliassime in 2
