ATP Sardinia Open Day 4 Predictions Including Albert Ramos-Vinolas vs Corentin Moutet

Albert Ramos Vinolas in action ahead of the ATP Kitzbuhel Open

It’s day 4 of the ATP Sardinia Open 2020. The Round of 16 round is set to complete on Day 4 with four matches scheduled. We preview and predict all four of them.

ATP Sardinia Open Day 4 Predictions

Lorenzo Musetti vs Andrea Pellegrino

Head to head – First Meeting
Lorenzo Musetti doesn’t seem to be minding the new found limelight on him ever since he played lights out in Rome. He backed that up winning a Challenger event and now has taken out the eighth seed Pablo Cuevas with relative ease. He takes on fellow countryman, Andrea Pellegrino. Pellegrino has done well to come through qualifying here and with Stefano Travaglia retiring in the third set, he now finds himself in the round of 16. Expect Musetti to continue his good form and get through to a well deserved quarterfinal spot on the back of his clean ball-striking.
Prediction: Musetti in 2

Marco Cecchinato vs Tommy Paul

Head to head – First Meeting
This should be an interesting match-up. Tommy Paul is close to his career high ranking at 58 but had a disappointing restart to the season. The American found some form in Hamburg before losing a tight five setter in the French Open. He had to dig deep in his first round encounter against Andrej Martin winning 7-5 in the third. He’ll have to play much better if he’s to beat Marco Cecchinato who loves playing on clay. The Italian had a decent French Open and even though he lost in the quarterfinals at Parma, Cecchinato looked more secure on his serve and should get the better of the American.
Prediction: Cecchinato in 3

Yannick Hanfmann vs Casper Ruud

Head to head – First Meeting
Yannick Hanfmann is as unpredictable as they get. Credit to the German though for blasting away Salvatore Caruso in straight sets. However his next opponent is someone who plays his best on clay, Casper Ruud. The Norwegian has improved a lot and has powerful groundstrokes especially off his forehand wing. He’ll be eager to put up a strong performance here and expect him to do so against Hanfmann. Ruud should overpower the German to progress to the quarterfinals.
Prediction: Ruud in 2

Albert Ramos-Vinolas vs Corentin Moutet

Head to head – First Meeting
Easily should be the match of the day. Albert Ramos-Vinolas is always an extremely tough player to get by on clay and he’ll be eager to get back to winning ways. The Spaniard has won just the one match over his past four clay-court tournaments and Ramos-Vinolas will be looking to improve that statistic. However his opening match is a tricky one. Corentin Moutet played a solid match against Frances Tiafoe and brings in a little bit of confidence to this match. The Spaniard has never faced the Frenchman before which adds to the charm of this match. Expect a tight three setter with Ramos-Vinolas just clinching it with his clay court prowess and consistency.
Prediction: Ramos-Vinolas in 3
