Wimbledon Day 6 Women’s Predictions Including Radwanska vs. Bacsinszky

Top women’s players in action on day 6 include Aga Radwanska, Angelique Kerber, Caroline Wozniacki, and Americans Coco Vandeweghe and Alison Riske. Brett Margolies and Yesh Ginsburg offer their full predictions.

(9)Agnieszka Radwanska vs. (19)Timea Bacsinszky

Brett: #9 seed Aga Radwanska was in bad form heading in to Wimbledon, but she seems to be gaining some confidence after two good wins. She trails the H2H with Bacsinszky 2-0 but I think she’ll get her first win over the 19th seed from Switzerland. Radwanska in 3

Yesh: Radwanska seems to have mostly played her way out of her funk this tournament. Bacsinszky is a very tough opponent, but I think the Pole is in the right form to win this. Radwanska in 3

(24)Coco Vandeweghe vs. Alison Riske

Brett: This is an interesting All American affair between two players who are definitely familiar with the surface. At one point it seemed as if Alison Riske only won matches on grass, and Vandeweghe has made the semifinals in back to back years. This will be their 9th meeting against each other with Riske winning the last three, I think she’ll make it four in a row on Saturday. Riske in 2

Yesh: Both Riske and Vandeweghe have power and ability on grass. This should be a very good match, and I think that Vandeweghe has just a bit more on grass to get this done. Vandeweghe in 3

(5)Caroline Wozniacki vs Anett Kontaveit

Brett: I feel like this can be the match of the third round on the women’s side. Kontaveit has rolled through her first two matches, but now faces the tough task of playing Caroline Wozniacki. I think Wozniacki will step up and experience will be crucial in her moving on to the round of 16. Wozniacki in 3

Yesh: Wozniacki looks in good form and has been playing very well for basically a full year now. She hasn’t been able to close tournaments in 2017, but making deep runs has not been her problem. Wozniacki in 2

(1)Angelique Kerber vs. Shelby Rogers

Brett: After the win over a tricky grass court player in Flipkens, Kerber plays an oppenent who plays a complete opposite style in Shelby Rogers. Her big hitting game translates well to the grass, but I expect last years finalist to step her game up and win rather comfortably. Kerber in 2

Yesh: Kerber looks to be in better form than she has the past few months, and I don’t quite think that Rogers has the game to challenge her when she’s playing well. Kerber in 2

Sorana Cirstea vs. (14)Garbine Muguruza

Brett: Muguruza has won her first two matches both by the score of 6-2 6-4. I don’t expect this one to be as easy but Cirstea hasn’t had much success the past year over top 20 players. Muguruza in 2

Yesh: Muguruza reached the final here two years ago, even though grass doesn’t seem like her best surface. She’s not quite at the form she had that summer, but she’s getting there. Cirstea has talent, but not quite the consistency to stay in this match. Muguruza in 2
