'In The Bin' Rugby Pod - Season 1, Episode 34

Better late than never. ‘In the Bin’ rugby pod couldn’t not comment on the rugby news….especially after some Champion-rugby last weekend.

It’s been a busy week of news to compliment the European semi finals this week! Paddy and Andy are here to talk through the lot!

Big Story Roundup

We’ll start with England having the Hartley ripped out of their summer tour, but possibly gaining a Shield from down-under, to protect their breakdown. A bit like bring in one of ‘the Avengers’ [for all our DC Comics listeners).

There was very sad news as Saints and Australia centre Rob Horne is forced to retire after his freak injury.

Over in Ireland, Ross and Joey aren’t making friends in Ulster as they fight against moves up North.

Whilst we are down to the ‘finals’ five for European player of the year, Tadhg can feel a little ‘Beirnt’ ….for not making the cut. [There is another classic Paddy pun].

European Rugby Semi Finals

A five star Leinster outfit barely broke a sweat, as the Scarlets Champions Cup hopes evaporated in the baking Dublin sun. The look on Jonny Sexton’s face say’s it all ….nearly as good as taking a Grand Slam aye Jonny!!

On Sunday in Bordeaux, Teddy Thomas (see main picture) the rugby engine steam rolled Munster in a blistering opening 20 minutes to ensure Racing’s final spot.

Then in the Challenge Cup, Gloucester and Cardiff booked their places for finals weekend in Bilbao.

‘In the Bin’ rugby pod regular features

‘In the Bin’ rugby pod then indulge in our regular features: try of the week, hit of the week and Bin Juice. We will also predict the upcoming Aviva Premiership and Guinness Pro 14 games.
