The ‘In the Bin’ rugby pod returns, with our European edition of the the pod as we welcome the Champions Cup back with open arms!
Your hosts Andy and Paddy get out the red wine and cheeseboard, ready in honour of the French teams — there were some cracking games for us to discuss.
Big Story Roundup
Gatland’s law is no more! As Welsh rugby throw out the existing selection rules for the national team, like a burnt rarebit. Instead, it becomes ‘the Saga of rugby nations’ with only over 60’s allowed.
Wow. Big decision, that #GatlandsLaw https://t.co/QAKUT3BAiF

Champions Cup Recap
A truly fantastic return for the 2017/18 Champions Cup, with exciting games all over the shop.
- Northampton got de ja vu against Saracens, who seem hellbent on single-handedly ruining their season
📊 @Owen_Faz's 17 points for @Saracens on Sunday pushed him past 600 points in the competition & he's now fifth on the all-time scoring list pic.twitter.com/djvyH60yUz
— Heineken Champions Cup (@ChampionsCup) October 17, 2017
- Ulster and Leinster stormed to victories on the Emerald Isle although we still adore the enormous Nemani Nadolo (see main picture). He is a Monster!
- A Ryan Lamb led La Rochelle sent Quins to the slaughter, and Scarlets nearly left Toulon red faced
Future Fixtures and Predictions
Andy and Paddy did pretty well in their predictions this past week, and will look to repeat the feat as they look forward to Round 2 of the Champions Cup next week.
