As of this piece’s publishing, Richard Petty Motorsports has not issued a comment on the matter.
This move comes a month after he was offered an ownership stake in the team. Wallace was set to become a free agent at the end of the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season.
His recent string of sponsorship announcements likely gives him leverage to sign with any team he desires.

Wallace is in the midst of a career season in the Cup Series, as he’s outperforming his previous best season totals in all but two categories.
The uptick, however, didn’t bring his points ranking higher than midfield, as he sits 23rd in points.
Wallace joined Richard Petty Motorsports as a fill-in driver in 2017, after primary driver Aric Almirola injured his back in a crash at Kansas Speedway. He impressed the team enough to land him a full-time ride in 2018.
