If you had Kevin Harvick staying put with Stewart-Haas Racing for the next few years in the driver pool, come on down and collect your prize.
Harvick confirmed to reporters at Daytona International Speedway that he signed an extension to stay put at SHR through 2023. His contract previously went through the end of the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season.

While there was little, if any, doubt Harvick would stay put at SHR, his age and television work for FOX Sports and SiriusXM raised speculation about how long he’d remain in the car as an active driver. With his new deal running through the end of NASCAR’s current television deal, the transition from car to booth becomes much easier.
“Really, that timing works well for me from a media standpoint, just because of the fact that you have a TV contract that’s coming up, you’ll know who the players are and I think at that particular point, you’ll have a fair amount of experience in the new car,” Harvick told NASCAR.com. “You’ll hopefully have been through the engine change, the vehicle change. So there were a number of things that go along with that. I really like racing with the group of guys in the organization where I’m at and I worked my whole career and feel like I got here with a group of guys and people that I want to have had success with. For me, going through a few more years in the car just made sense.”
Harvick joined SHR after driving the previous 12 seasons for Richard Childress Racing. In his first season in 2014, he won five races on his way to winning the Cup Series championship.
During the last decade, Harvick transformed into one of the top drivers in the Cup Series. In fact, 38 of his 49 wins came since 2010; only Kyle Busch has more in that same timespan.
He’ll begin another year of his career with SHR on Sunday at the Busch Clash at Daytona.
