FIA Formula E Gen2 car was unveiled to the public at the Geneva Motorshow in Geneva, Switzerland this week. The new car is for the 2018/19 Formula E season and has a striking new look. The car has progressed in both performance and efficiency since the first E-Prix four years ago. With almost twice the energy storage capacity available to the teams and drivers, there will no longer be needing a mid-race car change.

Car Specifications
Maximum power output for the Formula E Gen2 car has increased to 250kw. That is a 50kw increase from this year and will have the potential top speed of 280km/h(174mph). Race modes for any E-Prix will be 200kw.
Featuring eighteen-inch bespoke Michelin Pilot Sport Tires, the new car can go 0-100km/h (62mph) in 2.8 seconds. Integrated as part of the chassis is the new Halo head protection device, along with an innovative strip of LED lighting.
The lighting system concept will enable fans to better follow the strategy of their favorite team or driver. The lights would indicate things such as different power modes and other race-related information, with more details to be revealed ahead of the start of Season five. (Formula E Press Release)

“I’d like to express my personal thanks to the FIA and its President Jean Todt, for their hard work and support in putting together and designing our Gen2 car.
