Dan Ticktum has confirmed his spot with NIO 333 for the 2023 season for what will be his second year in Formula E.
Dan Ticktum will be racing alongside a new NIO 333 addition Sergio Sette Camara who has previously raced with the Dragon Penske team. Ticktum’s partner last season was Oliver Turvey, who had been a member of NIO 333 from the inaugural season in 2014/15, and is exiting the team. Last season Ticktum and Turvey finished with seven points and a 10th-place in the Team Standings.
Sette Camara managed just one finish in the points last season, a 9th in the second London E-Prix. Most of that was down to the performance of his car, Dragon, which finished last in the standings. Now was he able to lean on help from his partner, Formula 1 veteran Antonio Giovinazzi. But could the new pairing of Ticktum and Sette Camara build a solid building block to lift NIO 333?

Into the Future
With Ticktum entering his second year, and the new addition Sergio Sette Camara, NIO 333 sees Season 9 as the first step in a four-year plan. In the coming seasons, NIO333 has its sights set on becoming a top-three Formula E team by the series’ 12th season in 2025/26. The team appears to be quietly confident that they can achieve that lofty goal. Deputy Team Principal Russell O’Hagan stated:
“However, it’s more important to see Season 9 as the first step of a four-year plan. We have the aim of being a top-three team by Season 12. That may seem ambitious, but it’s only bound by practicalities and ones we have mapped out at each point along the way.”
But by dropping Turvey, signing Camara, and retaining Ticktum, NIO 333 is looking toward the future after a difficult Season 8. We will see what potential the future holds for NIO333 with their new lineup on January 14 in Mexico City when Season 9 begins.
