ART Grand Prix confirm Victor Martins for the 2025 F2 season. With the grid completed the drivers are ready to hit the track next week for pre-season testing.

Victor Martins and ART Grand Prix Complete the 2025 Formula 2 Grid

The 2025 Formula 2 grid is finally completed. The last name to be announced was Victor Martins, who will continue his journey with ART Grand Prix for the third consecutive year.

He is among the drivers ready to go out on track for the first time this year in Barcelona, for the pre-season tests.

Martins’ Journey in Motorsport

Among the 2025 F2 grid, Victor Martins stands out as one of the most experienced drivers.

He began his journey in single-seater racing in 2016, competing in the French F4 Championship. Although he participated as a guest driver in only four rounds, he made a significant impact, achieving two podium finishes at Le Mans.

His impressive performance led him to come close to winning the championship the following year, finishing just four points behind the title-holder, Arthur Rougier.

The first championship win came in 2020, racing for ART Grand Prix in Formula Renault Eurocap. In his third season in the series, he managed to beat Caio Collet and win the driver and team title with seven victories and fourteen podiums.

Another big satisfaction came in 2022 when he was crowned Formula 3 champion in the last race. Seeing the talent proved on track and his skills to adapt to different championships, it was no surprise when the following year he was announced to step up to Formula 2.

The Key to Formula 1

Martins’ 2023 Formula 2 campaign didn’t get off to the best start. By the eighth round, he had scored points only twice – both times on the podium.

His inconsistency kept him from fighting for the top spots in the standings. But from Monte Carlo onward, Martins stepped up his game, focusing on better results.

That approach paid off. He secured his first Feature Race win at Silverstone, along with pole position and the fastest lap.

Strong performances in the second half of the season helped him climb the standings, finishing fifth overall. He was also named Rookie of the Year, ending the season as the highest-placed rookie.

Heading into 2024, Martins was considered a title contender after ending the previous season on a high. But the new car proved to be a major challenge – for both him and ART.

The reigning F2 Teams’ Champions struggled early on with both drivers. However, as the season progressed, something changed. Martins and the team found a stronger setup, leading to victory in Spain.

Inconsistency remained an issue towards the end of the year, but Martins still secured four more podiums and four additional points finishes. He wrapped up the season seventh in the standings.

Now, 2025 will be a crucial year in his pursuit of the F2 title. Winning is well within his reach, but with new challengers and familiar rivals, the battle won’t be easy.
