Deegan goes East for K&N Race at Bristol

New Smyrna

Hailie Deegan announced this week that she would once again be crossing over to the NASCAR K&N East Series for the tour’s stop at Bristol on Thursday night.

It will be Deegan’s seventh race on the East side this season and she’s hoping it goes better than the rest have.

In her six starts in the East Series, including a crossover events at Iowa Speedway, Deegan has only finished in the top 10 once.

That was a 10th-place finish at South Boston.

Deegan’s West series results have been much more favorable, however.

The regular on that side of the series is currently second to Derek Kraus – who has raced in every K&N race on each side of the tour – by 16 points.

Not to mention she has two wins and a series-leading five top-five finishes in eight races this year on the schedule.

She’s only due to find some of that success on the East side at some point.

Deegan will be racing in Thursday’s Bristol race for the East Series before traveling all the way to Washington to race in the West’s event at Evergreen Speedway.

Thursday night will also mark one of the last four races of the year in the East Series.

Five drivers are within 30 points of first-place Sam Mayer as the season championship closes out.

Add in that the East and West series will be hosting a crossover event at Gateway a week from Saturday’s West race at Evergreen that has the potential to shake up the standings, and this could get really interesting.

Thursday’s installment will surely be one to watch.

The Bristol race is scheduled for 150 laps and will begin at 6:00 p.m. ET and will be livestreamed by Fans Choice TV.
