Johnny Sauter Goes Back to Back by Winning at Texas

The Camping World Truck Series was back in action for the Striping Technology 350. With only two races left before the Championship 4, the drivers were under a lot of pressure to pick up a win today. John Wes Townley announced he would miss the race due to an injury, he will relieved by Cody Coughlin. Johnny Sauter won last week to secure his spot at Homestead, he would start 16th. Spencer Gallagher won the pole for the race with Daniel Hemric to his outside. Five remaining drivers, two shots left to compete at Homestead.

Race Recap

Spencer Gallagher got off to the early lead. The race ran very smooth with very few cautions. One incident of note however was a slight dust up between Cameron Hayley and Christopher Bell on the final lap. Bell got loose coming out of turn two and slammed into Hayley. Hayley ran Bell up into the wall coming out of turn four, this lead to more beating and banging in the pit lane. The two talked it out in pit lane and declared it was just a simple product of hard racing.  No hard feeling between the two racers.

Final Thoughts

This race from Texas was action packed in terms of close racing. Lots of hard, fast battles around every corner of the track. The stakes are high since Johnny Sauter claimed another win, reducing the number of chances to get a win to only one more race. This means there is one more chance from a driver to win and get locked in to the Homestead finale. That race will take place Friday November 11th at Phoenix International Raceway for the Lucas Oil 150: The last race before the Homestead finale, and the last chance for the remaining 5 drivers to score a win and advance.
