Stinchcomb earned First-Team All-America honors twice for his performance on the field, including a consensus selection in 1998. He also stood out in the classroom, earning Academic All-America honors twice and being named Academic All-American of the Year in 1998.
Stinchcomb was a four-year letterman, a three-year starter, and team captain. He helped lead Georgia to a 19-5 record in his junior and senior years, including wins in the Outback and Peach Bowls. He started 32 straight games for the Bulldogs, was a finalist for the Rotary Lombardi Award in 1998, and won the Jacobs Award as the SEC’s top blocker.
Stinchcomb was named to the SEC All-Decade Team for the 1990s and recognized as an SEC Legend in 2009. His strong academic record and community work earned him several honors, such as an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, the NCAA Top Eight Award, and two selections to the AFCA National Good Works Team.
After graduating magna cum laude with a business degree, Stinchcomb was picked 18th overall by the Oakland Raiders in the 1999 NFL Draft. The Lilburn, Georgia native played five seasons with the Raiders and three more with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
After his NFL career, Stinchcomb teamed up with his brother Jon and former teammate David Greene, both NFF National Scholar-Athletes from Georgia, to start the Stinchcomb Family Foundation and Countdown to Kickoff Charities. These organizations raise money for children’s healthcare.
Stinchcomb also completed Harvard Business School’s Executive Education Business Management & Entrepreneurial Program. He is now a partner at Sterling Seacrest Partners, a commercial insurance brokerage and consulting firm. During college football season, he works as a game analyst on the SEC Network.
