Krishawn Hogan 2017 NFL Draft Profile

Krishawn Hogan has always been a low-profile football player since his days at Warren Central High School in Indiana. Hogan was not highly recruited, and started his collegiate career off at Walsh University where he had more catches and yards in his freshman season (32-393), then he did in his senior year of high school (20-216). He transferred to Marian University in Indianapolis, Indiana in the fall of 2014 and made an immediate impact for the Knights. Hogan posted monster numbers in his first season with 82 receptions for 1,136 yards and 11 touchdowns.

In 2015 Hogan had an even bigger impact by catching 101 passes for nearly 2,000 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also made an impact on the ground game for the Knights in his junior and senior seasons by rushing for 25 touchdowns. Hogan had much of the same success his senior year by catching 80 balls for 1,435 yards and 15 touchdowns. Hogan was named conference offensive player of the year and first team All-American in his senior campaign.

Strengths:

  • Good frame & length
  • Finds the end-zone
  • Athletic for his size
  • Makes plays after catch

Weaknesses:

  • Small school resume
  • Route running
  • Needs to attack ball in the air
  • Drops

NFL Comparison: T.J. Houshmandzadeh

Projection: 6th or 7th round

Teams With WR Needs: Tennessee Titans, Los Angeles Chargers, Buffalo Bills, New Orleans Saints, Detroit Lions

The Bottom Line

Krishawn Hogan overwhelmed the competition at Marian University with monstrous numbers. It will be a massive jump from the NAIA level to the NFL, but Hogan’s big frame and large catch radius will make it an easier transition for the small school standout. The professional attributes are there for Hogan, it just comes down to having an opportunity and making the adjustment to much stiffer competition.
