Miami Hurricanes Announce 10 Early Enrollees
With National Signing Day behind us, and the spring semester underway, the University of Miami football program has announced ten early enrollee recruits. They have already begun classes and will participate in spring football.
The Hurricanes have innovated a new technique by actually creating a website that allows viewers to get insight on the new Hurricanes. The site is the moniker in which the current batch of recruits have taken on. Included on the site is a video breakdown of the recruits from former UM greats, such as Jon Beason, Duke Johnson, Bryant McKinnie, Jon Vilma, D.J. Williams and Steve Walsh.
“We’re excited about this year’s early enrollees,” head coach Mark Richt said. “As a group, they embody the qualities we’re looking for as Hurricanes. These young men will get a head start on all aspects of our off-season program, which will give them the opportunity to compete right away.”

The Enrollees
The Hurricanes will look for key contributions from this class to compete in certain key positions. Cade Weldon, a 6’3, 204-pound quarterback from Tampa, Florida will participate in an open quarterback competition after three-year starter Brad Kayaa declared early for the NFL Draft. Navaughn Donaldson, a 6’6, 335-pound offensive tackle from Miami Central High School, will look to shore up a shaky offensive line which took the blame for Miami’s four-game losing streak during October. With both senior safeties, Jamal Carter and Rayshawn Jenkins graduating, Amari Carter out of Palm Beach Gardens High School will look to compete for a starting position in the openings at the position.
With the Hurricanes fresh off its first bowl win in over a decade, the Canes look to carry that momentum through spring ball and into next season. Miami hasn’t had a 10-win season since Larry Coker was head coach in 2003. Richt and the Canes will be seeking their first ACC Championship since moving from The Big East.
