Clemson Wins Two in a Row

Clemson Wins Two in a Row For the First Time in 2025

Clemson got its second straight win on the road this season, this time against Boston College, 41-10. The Tigers have won two games in a row for the first time in 2025.

It started with another great performance by Cade Klubnik and the offense in the first half. The defense held up its end as well, especially in the second half. Altogether, this made it another dominant win for Clemson. This win was exactly what the Tigers needed to build momentum for a tough four-game stretch, starting next weekend.

Offense Stays Hot

The offense came out hot for the second week in a row. The unit was hard to stop as Klubnik led the charge. He made plays with both his arm and his legs all night long.

The Tigers scored 34 points and had 333 total yards in the first half alone. They finished the game with 504 total yards, the most the offense has had in a single game thus far.

Klubnik left the game late in the third quarter with a leg injury after taking a hard hit in the red zone from Omar Thornton. The senior quarterback finished his night completing 22 of 30 pass attempts for 280 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He also had nine carries for 48 yards and a touchdown.

The passing touchdown and many of those passing yards came from connections with Bryant Wesco Jr. The sophomore wide receiver’s star continues to rise. Wesco had a great game as he grabbed five receptions for 106 yards and a touchdown.

The Tigers were able to move the ball well on the ground, too, with a mix of players taking carries. That group included Peter Woods, who had a 2-yard touchdown run. The team had a total of 226 rushing yards against the Eagles. The offensive performances from the last two weeks need to continue through the second half of the season for Clemson to make a run.

Defense Plays Stout

The defense for Clemson also played very well. They were able to hold Boston College to just 10 points, 78 yards rushing, and 214 total yards on the night. The Tigers’ defense shut out the Eagles’ offense in the second half as well. The defensive front showed up big time, collecting seven tackles for loss and five sacks.

Two of the sacks were by Jahiem Lawson, who’s had a great season thus far. Another player who stood out against Boston College was sophomore linebacker Sammy Brown. He was making plays all over the field throughout the game and was the team’s leading tackler on the night. Brown finished the night with seven total tackles, a sack, and a tackle for loss.

The defense seems to be getting back on track since the bye week. The energy has been injected back into that side of the ball. Tom Allen coming down from the booth to the sideline could be the difference the unit needed to get going. The unit must continue to improve and be ready for a talented SMU offense next week.

Upcoming Conference Slate

These two wins were the exact kind that Clemson needed, heading into the slate of games coming up. The Tigers have a tough four-game conference stretch beginning next week.

Three of their opponents are in the top eight of the ACC standings. Those teams are SMU, Duke, and Louisville. The other team, Florida State, is going through a rough patch after a hot start to the season. The Seminoles do have the ability to turn things back around over the next few weeks, though.

If Clemson wants any chance at getting back into the ACC Championship picture, it has to go 4-0 through this slate. There would still be much help needed, but the Tigers’ climb in the standings would at least put them in the race. Even if the conference championship is too far out of reach, winning the next four contests will show the Tigers are much better than they showed to start the season.
