Amarius Mims Georgia

The biggest signing in the Georgia Bulldog’s 2021 recruiting class has put the pen to paper this afternoon. Amarius Mims is one of three five-star players who made the decision to join the Georgia Bulldogs next season. Mims is currently listed as the third-best offensive tackle and the seventh-best player in the nation, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. The offensive lineman is also one of the top ten recruits that Georgia has landed since 2000. He has the ninth-highest composite score in program history.

Mims brings a lot of great talent to an already loaded Georgia offensive line. Standing at 6-foot-7 and weighing 315 pounds, the Cochran, Georgia, native has a massive stature on the offensive line. To back that up, Mims is incredibly strong and is a menace to any defender trying to get pressure. Mims will likely start for multiple years with Georgia before going on to the NFL.

Mims is coming off of an 8-5 season with the Bleckley County Royals. Their season ended this past week with a 27-24 loss to Rabun County in the Elite Eight of the Georgia High School Association AA football playoff. Mims racked up some individual accolades, as well. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution named him to their Super Eleven. He also received selections to the Under Armour All-American game, as well as the Polynesian Bowl.

The addition of Amarius Mims is a huge pickup for the Georgia Bulldogs. A strong and athletic blocker, Mims will be a major contributor for the Bulldogs in the coming years. Mims will likely become one of the top offensive linemen in the SEC very quickly. Also, he will likely be playing on Sundays one day, adding to the program’s rich history of sending players to the NFL.
