Miami Signs Jordan Miller

The University of Miami landed the signature of a major position of need. After losing several defensive linemen to the NFL Draft and transfers, Jordan Miller inks with the Hurricanes. The six foot four 330 pound defensive tackle from Jacksonville, Florida became a top priority after the early signing day period.

From Nothing To Something

Many recruiting services viewed Miller as an unknown due to him transferring high schools his senior year. In addition to that he did not attend many camps. The Sandalwood high school product was committed to Georgia Southern for a time before decommitting. After not signing during the early signing period, more schools found Miller on their radar.

His recruiting picked up after receiving an offer from Virginia, which was followed by Tennessee. Miami coaches got involved after Sandalwood head coach Bradley Jennings reached out on Miller’s behalf. Jennings has ties to Miami as his son is a linebacker on the roster.

Miller ended up committing to Miami and shutting down his recruitment process after an in home visit. The visit from five coaches including Mark Richt made Miller realize he was a priority. With depth being a need in the defensive front Miller could possibly see the field next season with his size.
