Gregory Rousseau Inks Early With Miami

The University of Miami adds another long limbed defensive lineman to a roster full of long players. Gregory Rousseau signs early with the Miami Hurricanes as he gets set to enroll early in January. The six foot six versatile defender is fresh from winning a state championship at Champagnat Catholic high school. That experience will be needed as Miami will try to make its way back to the ACC Championship next season. The Hurricanes were able to land the signature from Rousseau beating out teams such as LSU, Tennessee and West Virginia.

Skilled Athlete

At six foot six Rousseau is one of the more skilled athletes that Miami has on defense. Long term he projects as a defensive lineman and would certainly find time there to contribute. But he has played multiple positions his entire high school career, so there is versatility.

On his highlight tape, there are a number of positions that Rousseau has played. From wide receiver and tight end offense, and on the defensive side even going so far as being a safety. The athleticism is something that Miami covets and look to develop further after he gets set into the Hurricanes football team. Having an athlete of his magnitude is rare and with Manny Diaz running the defense he will be in good position to take advantage of it in the future.
