Ohio State Signs Chase Young

Ohio State Signs Chase Young

Ohio State, as expected, has signed elite defensive end Chase Young from Hyattsville, Maryland. Young is from famed DeMatha Catholic High School and at 6-5 and 251 pounds is rated the #2 weak side defensive end by 247Sports and #8 overall in the country in any position.

Young’s offer letters looked like a “Who’s Who” of college football. He had 41 offers in all, including USC, Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Miami, Florida State, Florida, Tennessee, Michigan and Michigan State among others. Even with five official visits allowed, he only made one, to Ohio State, and committed during their Summer camp. Even with several defensive lineman returning, and many considering this to be Ohio State’s best recruiting class in at least 10 years, Young is likely to see playing time as a true freshman.
