Auburn Gets DE Markaviest Bryant

Markaviest Bryant is likely to make Auburn’s defense look different next year. The 4-star defensive end chose the Tigers over LSU and his home school of Georgia. He had offers from every SEC school and most of the ACC as well. Georgia was thought to be the leader for his services, but he made his official visit to Auburn last weekend, and his fishing trip with head coach Gus Malzahn was apparently enough to make the difference.

At 6-4, 226 pounds, Bryant played both linebacker and defensive end at Crisp County High School in Cordele, Georgia last year. He has speed off the snap and quick hands. This is the third highly rated defensive lineman in this class for Auburn. He will be looked at to replace Carl Lawson who is headed to the NFL. Bryant is also the cousin of former Auburn defensive lineman Montravius Adams.
