The eagerly anticipated return of British #1 Jack Draper to the court is around the corner, as he is set to participate in the UTS Grand Final, featuring a remarkable lineup.
Draper made outstanding progress in 2025, climbing into the Top 10 for the first time in his career after an impressive first half of the season in which he won his maiden Masters 1000 title in Indian Wells. He continued his success by reaching the final of the Madrid Open, but lost to Casper Ruud.
He achieved a career-high ranking of World #4 just before Wimbledon, an astounding feat for the rapidly developing player, but that ranking was short-lived.
After an unexpected second-round exit at Wimbledon, Draper took time away from the court due to a bruised humerus. His attempt to return at the US Open was quickly halted as the pain became intolerable. He has since opted to skip the remainder of the season to focus on his recovery in preparation for the next one.
While it may not be the first event on the 2026 calendar, Draper will work towards it with his return to the UTS Grand Final, where he won the title in 2023, earning the largest paycheck of his career at the time.
The UTS is an exhibition event created by legendary coach Patrick Mouratoglou and businessman Alex Popyrin, the father of Australian tennis player Alexei Popyrin. It features rules and a format quite different from those of standard ATP Circuit tennis matches.
In his opening match, he will be up against David Goffin. Other participants, such as Alex de Minaur, Casper Ruud, and Andrey Rublev, will also be at the Copper Box in London from December 5th to 7th, competing for the title.
