ATP Bastad Semifinal Predictions
Camilo Ugo Carabelli vs Jesper De Jong
Head–to–Head: Carabelli 3 vs 2 De Jong
Jesper de Jong faces off against Camilo Ugo Carabelli in a contest that pits two gritty baseline players with contrasting paths on clay this season. The Dutchman enters the match in solid form, and his upward trajectory is beginning to reflect in his results.
On the other side, Argentina’s Camilo Ugo Carabelli, a natural clay-courter, thrives on the red dirt. While he hasn’t had a breakthrough run on the ATP Tour this year, his experience on the Challenger circuit and comfort on slower surfaces still make him a dangerous opponent.
Jesper de Jong, riding a wave of momentum and showing signs of maturity in his clay-court game, may have just enough firepower and composure to edge out Carabelli in what will undoubtedly be a tight encounter. Expect plenty of extended exchanges, but de Jong’s recent form gives him the edge.

Francisco Cerundolo vs Luciano Darderi
Head–to–Head: Cerundolo 2 vs 1 Darderi
2022 Champion, Francisco Cerundolo, thrives on the red dirt with his sharp movement and tactical nous. He’s been showing good form this week, brushing aside his opponents with confidence and composure.
His opponent, Luciano Darderi, has been one of the breakout players of the season on clay, having won his first ATP title last year in Córdoba. He showcased his aggressive game and quick hands to defeat Sebastian Baez convincingly in the quarterfinals. However, his inexperience at the business end of tournaments like this, as well as potential inconsistency under pressure, could be factors that Cerúndolo looks to exploit.
Given Cerúndolo’s comfort level in Bastad and match experience at this level, he enters the match as a slight favourite and should advance to play another championship match here.
