ATP Eastbourne Day 2 Predictions Including Flavio Cobolli vs Jacob Fearnley

The remaining ATP Eastbourne opening round matches are scheduled for Day 2. Flavio Cobolli and the huge-serving Reilly Opelka’s battles are predicted in this article. Four of the contests are analyzed in a separate piece, including Alexander Bublik vs Francisco Comesana. But which players do you think will win?

ATP Eastbourne Day 2 Predictions

Reilly Opelka vs George Loffhagen

Head-to-head: First meeting

Opelka starts as the favorite against an opponent ranked outside the Top 300. How close Opelka’s matches are due to his playing style will give Loffhagen some hope. The home favorite needs to find a way to hold consistently, since the American’s massive serve is one he will not be used to. Although sets involving Opelka are usually tight, his ability to secure one decisive break in each set after holding his service games might be the outcome of this match.

Prediction: Opelka in 2

Marcos Giron vs Luciano Darderi

Head-to-head: Darderi 1-0 Giron

Neither of these men has registered a grass-court victory in 2025. However, Darderi played well against Stefanos Tsitsipas and Nicolas Jarry, losing to them in deciding set tiebreaks. By contrast, Giron was hammered 2-6, 1-6 by Alexander Zverev. Despite Giron’s game being a decent fit for grass when he is playing well, Darderi impressed enough in his two tight losses to make me think he will get a win, which the 23-year-old probably deserves after a pair of harsh defeats.

Prediction: Darderi in 3

Flavio Cobolli vs Jacob Fearnley

Head-to-head: First meeting

Both players impressed last week. Cobolli beat Joao Fonseca and Denis Shapovalov to reach the quarterfinals in Halle, while Fearnley reached the same stage at the Queen’s Club Championships. Although Fearnley is a decent defender, I am backing Cobolli’s firepower to make the difference in this matchup. The Italian’s forehand thrives when he has time on it, and Fearnley does not strike the ball with overwhelming power.

Prediction: Cobolli in 2
