ATP 500 Halle semifinals
Medvedev – Zverev: 21.06.2025 15:00 CEST
H2H: 13-7
Daniil Medvedev has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Hertogenbosch, Medvedev lost against Opelka in the quarterfinals in straight sets. He was the finalist here in 2022, when he lost against Hurkacz in the final. This week in the opening round, Medvedev defeated Altmaier in straight sets. In the second round, Halys had no answer for him. Medvedev served great, not offering any breakpoints throughout the match. Yesterday in the quarterfinals, the Russian defeated Michelsen in straight sets. Once again, Medvedev offered no breakpoints.
Alexander Zverev has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Stuttgart, Zverev reached the final, losing against Fritz in straight sets. Zverev once again fumbled under pressure when it was most important. He was the finalist here in Halle twice, but he never won a title. This week, Zverev won the opening round match against Giron in straight sets. His toughest challenge happened in the 1/8-Finals against Sonego. After losing the opening set 3-6, the German stepped up his level and turned the match around. In the second and third sets, Zverev offered no breakpoints. Yesterday in the quarterfinals, he defeated Cobolli in straight sets. Once again, Zverev saved all six breakpoints.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, this will be an almost 50-50 matchup, but we disagree. Medvedev was more dominant this week in Halle. On the other hand, Zverev just recently lost the final in Stuttgart. He is emotionally tired and we expect him to fumble under pressure against Medvedev who is playing his best tennis.
That being said, Medvedev winning is a value bet.

Bublik – Khachanov: 21.06.2025 16:30 CEST
H2H: 0-1
Alexander Bublik has won four of his last five matches. His last match before the ATP Halle was at the French Open, where he had a decent run. He eventually lost to Sinner in the quarterfinals. This week in Halle, Bublik defeated Muller in the opening round in straight sets. In the 1/8-Finals, Bublik upset Sinner in three tight sets, after losing the opening set 3-6. The Kazakh won the quarterfinal match against Machac in straight sets. Last season in Halle, Bublik lost against Eubanks in the 1/8-Finals.
Karen Khachanov has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Hertogenbosch, Khachanov lost in the quarterfinals against Diallo in straight sets. This week in Halle, he won the opening round match against Bergs in straight sets. He was great under pressure, saving both breakpoints. In the second round, the Russian won against Auger-Aliassime in three tight sets. Yesterday in the quarterfinals, Khachanov demolished Etcheverry in straight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Bublik is the favourite in this matchup and we agree. He is in great form and is highly motivated. Khachanov never succeeded on grass courts. We expect Bublik to be a better player and win.
That being said, Bublik winning is a value bet.
