ATP Rome Quarterfinal Predictions Including Carlos Alcaraz vs Jack Draper

Two of the four ATP Italian Open quarterfinal matches will be held on Wednesday in Rome. Carlos Alcaraz and Jack Draper have been the best players of the season so far (not counting Jannik Sinner due to his suspension keeping him out of the action) and they’re coming up against each other for the third time in 2025 already. Meanwhile, defending champion Alexander Zverev takes on Lorenzo Musetti. Who do you think will make the final four?

ATP Rome Quarterfinal Predictions

Lorenzo Musetti vs Alexander Zverev

Head-to-head: Musetti 2-1

It’s been a fantastic clay-court season for Lorenzo Musetti with the final in Monte Carlo and the semifinals in Madrid. Now he’s also firing on all cylinders in Rome with three straight-set wins. Seems like he might have a shot to keep going as well. Alexander Zverev is defending the title, but has been much more up and down this year since reaching the Australian Open final. He lost their only completed match on clay at the Paris Olympics last year and might be a bit overwhelmed with the number of options Musetti has in his toolbox. It’s a tough game to execute, but the ceiling is so high on natural surfaces when things are coming together.
Prediction: Musetti in 3

Carlos Alcaraz vs Jack Draper

Head-to-head: Alcaraz 3-2

This is quite the showdown with Carlos Alcaraz sitting in the top spot of the ATP Race and Jack Draper currently placed at No. 2. Both have already claimed an ATP 1000 title this year with the Brit also adding the Madrid final two weeks ago. Alcaraz didn’t play that event and should be fresher, giving himself a good shot at avenging the Indian Wells semifinal exit. Being on a win streak might help him stay calmer on the court, which was his biggest issue during their match in California. His returning strategy could also use some adjustments in terms of moving back and being content to start the point, which should be even more important on clay.
Prediction: Alcaraz in 3

About Damian Kust

Damian is a connoisseur of the lower tiers of men's tennis and would probably watch the World No. 700 play a ferret if he could see it from the stands. Always pleased by a beautiful one-handed backhand or classic volleying technique.
