The WTA Madrid Open has reached the semifinals, and I’m here to provide my best bets for the matches. The featured match is Coco Gauff vs Iga Swiatek. The other match is Aryna Sabalenka vs Elina Svitolina. Do you think I picked the right bets? Let me know in the comments.
WTA Madrid Open Semifinals
Gauff – Swiatek: Time 16:00
H2H: 3-11
Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff have met fourteen times before Madrid. Gauff is 3-11 in those matches, but she has won the last two meetings. That said, of their fourteen matches, five were on clay, and all of them were in the quarterfinals or higher. None of the clay court matches went beyond two sets. In fact, only one of the fourteen matches they’ve played has gone beyond two sets.
Best Bet to Make
The books have Swiatek as the favorite, and it’s easy to see why. At 11-3 against Gauff, Swiatek seems to understand how to beat her consistently, and without needing to work too hard while doing so. Given the fact that she’s won the last two matches, it might be tempting to think Gauff is ready to make it three in a row, but here’s where her 0-5 record on clay against Swiatek outweighs that. All in all, Swiatek should notch her twelfth win over Gauff and her sixth on clay.
That being said, Swiatek winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.

Sabalenka – Svitolina: Time 21:30
H2H: 4-1
Aryna Sabalenka and Elina Svitolina have met five times before Madrid, and Sabalenka is 4-1 in those matches, with two wins coming on clay. Svitolina did notch a win over Sabalenka back in 2020 in a three-set match in Strasbourg. Two of their three matches on clay have gone three sets, and Rome could have gone either way. At this particular point, both ladies are on fire. Sabalenka is 9-1 in her last ten matches, while Svitolina is currently on an eleven-match winning streak with one tournament title.

Best Bet to Make
The books have Sabalenka as a pretty heavy favorite, and I’m not sure I agree with how heavy. I do think Sabalenka is poised to win this match, but it would be silly to count out Svitolina in her current form. if it were me, I would feel more comfortable betting this match straight, but I’m going to offer a prop bet in the next section for those of you feeling a little more adventurous.
That being said, Sabalenka winning is a value bet for sure.

Sabalenka – Svitolina: Time 21:30
H2H: 4-1
Best Prop Bet to Make
The books have Sabalenka as a heavy favorite. Betting a straight winner on this match can pay off, but choosing the correct score has some fantastically great odds on offer. I think that Svitolina is playing well enough, and when you combine that with their history of having played three sets in two of their three clay matches, you end up with a very tempting offer. Svitolina is playing well enough to offer some resistance to Sabalenka, and I think another three-set match is in the works for these two.
That being said, Sabalenka winning 2:1 is a value bet for sure.
