ATP 250 Marrakech final
Griekspoor – Darderi: 06.04.2025 16:00 CEST
H2H: 2-0
Tallon Griekspoor has won four of his last five matches. His last match before ATP Marrakech was in Indian Wells, where he reached the quarterfinals, losing against Rune in three tight sets. This week in Marrakech, Griekspoor won against Carreno-Busta in three tight sets in the opening match. In the quarterfinals, Bellucci had no answer for the Dutch’s game. Griekspoor won comfortably in straight sets, saving all four breakpoints. Today, in the semifinals, Griekspoor won against Majchrzak in tight straight sets. He trailed 3-5 in the opening set but turned it around.
Luciano Darderi has won four of his last five matches. This week in Marrakech, Darderi had a favorable draw. His biggest challenge was in the 1/8-Finals against Gaston. After losing the opening set 2-6, he won in three tight sets. Kopriva fought hard in the opening set in the quarterfinals, but it was not enough. Darderi won in straight sets. Today, in the semifinals, Darderi demolished Carballes Baena in straight sets. It was his best performance this week. He offered no breakpoints in the second set and deservedly won in straight sets.
Best Bets to Make
According to the bookies, this will be an almost 50-50 matchup, but we disagree. Darderi should have been a favorite in this match. Griekspoor has only won two ATP titles and usually underperforms at the highest level when it is most important. He has never won an ATP title on clay. On the other hand, Darderi has played only one ATP final and won the title. Last season in Cordoba, Darderi won his maiden ATP title under similar conditions. We expect him to be a better player and win.
That being said, Darderi winning is a value bet.

Second Bet
The serve won’t play a big part in this match. The surface is very slow in Marrakech, and we expect an exhausting match with many rallies and breaks. We believe the possibility for a tiebreak is low, and the odds are decent. So far this week, Darderi has not played any tiebreaks. The closest he was was against Kopriva in the quarterfinals, when he won the opening set 7-5. On the other hand, Griekspoor has played two tiebreaks this week. In the opening match against Carreno-Busta, Griekspoor won the opening set 7-6, but there were plenty of breakpoints. In the semifinals, the Dutch defeated the second set against Majchrzak through a tiebreak, and there were again three breakpoints.
That being said, no tiebreaks in the match is a value bet.
