ATP French Open quarterfinals
Jodar – Zverev: 02.06.2026 14:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Rafael Jodar has won four of his last five matches. This week in Paris, the Spaniard demolished Kovacevic in the opening round in straight sets. He offered and saved only one breakpoint. In the second round, Jodar had a rough battle against Duckworth, winning in four sets. His toughest challenge happened in the third round against Michelsen. The Spaniard trailed 1-2, but turned the match around. In the 1/8-Finals, Jodar turned the match around against Carreno-Busta after being 0-2 down.
Alexander Zverev has won four of his last five matches. This week in Paris, Zverev defeated Bonzi and Machac in straight sets in the opening rounds. In the third round, Zverev outlasted Halys in four sets. Zverev had a chance to close out the match in straight sets, but served poorly in two games. In the 1/8-Finals, Zverev defeated de Jong in straight sets. He trailed 1-3 in the opening set, but turned it around. He was the finalist here in 2024. Last season, the German lost to Djokovic in the quarterfinals in four sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Zverev is the favourite in this matchup, and we agree. He is the biggest favourite to win the title this week. Jodar had two consecutive five-setters and will be physically exhausted coming into this match. Zverev has more experience at the French Open, so we expect him to win.
That being said, Zverev covering the games handicap is a value bet.
Value bet/ the best odds: Alexander Zverev -4.5 games handicap @1.80 @bet365
Mensik – Fonseca: 02.06.2026 20:15 CEST
H2H: 0-2
Jakub Mensik has won four of his last five matches. This week at the French Open, the Czech demolished Droguet in the opening match in straight sets. In the second round, Mensik outlasted Navone in five tight sets after playing for almost five hours. He converted the seventh match point. In the third round, Mensik upset de Minaur in four sets. After losing the opening set 0-6, the Czech stepped up his level and demolished the Australian. In the 1/8-Finals, Mensik defeated Rublev in five tight sets.
Joao Fonseca has won four of his last five matches. This week at the French Open, Fonseca defeated Pavlovic in the opening match in straight sets. He saved one set point in the opening set. In the second round against Prizmic after trailing 0-2, Fonseca stepped up his level and turned the match around, winning in five sets. In the third round, he once again made a comeback after being 0-2 down. This time, Fonseca upset Djokovic in five tight sets. In the 1/8-Finals, the Brazilian upset Ruud in four sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Fonseca is the favourite in this matchup, and we agree. He is a better clay-court player than Mensik and had a tougher draw so far. We expect him to dominate the rallies.
That being said, Fonseca covering the games handicap is a value bet.
