WTA Bogota Day 2 Predictions Including Varvara Lepchenko vs Hanna Chang

The weather forecast at the WTA Bogota doesn’t make for interesting reading, as rains are expected to intensify during the week. The tournament organizers are in a rush to get the first-round matches completed. As always, we here at LWOT have every single match covered in our predictions, including Camila Osorio vs Mariana Isabel Higuita Barraza. But who will reach the second round?

WTA Bogota Day 2 Predictions

Lea Boskovic vs Irina Bara

Head-to-head: Boskovic 1-1 Bara

This is an all-qualifier meeting. Boskovic hadn’t played a clay-court match this season but still won a couple of 6-0 sets to reach the main draw. Bara has featured 20 times on the sport’s most demanding surface this season and has won 13 matches and lost seven. She was a runner-up in an ITF tournament in Antalya. The Romanian is also a frequent visitor to Bogota, playing in her fifth main draw, and is better suited to get a result.
Prediction: Bara in 2

Emiliana Arango vs Lucrezia Stefanini

Head-to-head: Arango 3-2 Stefanini

This is sure to be one of the most competitive matches in Bogota. Arango holds a 3-2 advantage in the head-to-head and defeated Stefanini in their only clay meeting in Parma last season. The Italian avenged that loss in the US Open qualifying. This is too close to call, but Arango is the crowd favorite and is having a terrific season (making two finals already).
Prediction: Arango in 3

Varvara Lepchenko vs Hanna Chang

Head-to-head: Lepchenko 2-1 Chang

Lepchenko is struggling with consistency lately. Last year, she won 55 matches at all levels. She has notched six wins in the first quarter of 2025. Chang is having a worse season by comparison with five defeats in 14 matches. Lepchenko won their third career meeting in the Australian Open qualifying back in January. Her serve is more effective on the fast-playing Bogota clay courts, which also minimizes her need for extended rallies.
Prediction: Lepchenko in 3
