ATP Miami Day 3 Predictions Including Nick Kyrgios vs Karen Khachanov

Day 3 of the 2025 ATP Miami Open sees top seeds in action as they try to begin their week and gain momentum for the back end of the tournament. Nick Kyrgios looks to follow up his opening-round win over Mackenzie McDonald when he squares off against No. 22 seed Karen Khachanov. As ever, we at LWOT have the preview and prediction for all matches on the slate. But who will advance?

ATP Miami Day 3 Predictions

Jiri Lehecka vs Gael Monfils

Head-to-head: Lehecka 1-0 Monfils

This is a fantastic matchup, and it’s a shame this is just the second round. Gael Monfils is one of the oldest players on tour, yet his energy is inspiring and so exciting to watch. Jiri Lehecka is enjoying some of his best years on tour, and the Czech will be looking to keep that going. Monfils looked in decent touch in his first round, but Lehecka is attacking very well and should be able to control points from the baseline better.

Prediction: Lehecka in 3

Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Tristan Schoolkate

Head-to-head: First Meeting

Tristan Schoolkate has done very well to come through qualifying and played a fantastic match in his first round to set up a clash against Felix Auger-Aliassime. They are playing each other for the first time, and it looks likely that Auger-Aliassime will get an easy win here based on his superior firepower and bigger serve never to let Schoolkate settle into the match.

Prediction: Auger-Aliassime in 2

Alexander Bublik vs Tommy Paul

Head-to-head: Bublik 0-2 Paul

Alexander Bublik hasn’t had a good start to 2025, and the Kazakh is looking short of answers to turn his season around. He did reach the finals of the Challenger event last week and played a good match in his first round, but Tommy Paul is a solid hard court player, and the American enjoys the head-to-head advantage over Bublik. Expect Bublik to win a set with his unorthodox game style, but Paul should be consistent enough to get the win.

Prediction: Paul in 3

Nick Kyrgios vs Karen Khachanov

Head-to-head: Kyrgios 1-2 Khachanov

Karen Khachanov hasn’t managed to conjure up any momentum so far, and his first match this week will be a tough one to start preparing to do so. Nick Kyrgios is back on the main tour, and he would be immensely happy with his first-round win in three sets. Expect a tough battle, but on the hard courts, Khachanov does look settled most of the time, and his consistency should break Kyrgios’ patience.

Prediction: Khachanov in 3
