The newly appointed consultant, Franco Davin, is a familiar name to seasoned tennis enthusiasts. Having played a pivotal role in guiding Juan Martín Del Potro to his US Open victory in 2009, Davin now channels his coaching prowess towards another promising South American talent. Beyond their shared South American roots, what truly links Fonseca to Del Potro is his playing style, particularly his powerful forehand. Davin, known for his work with notable players like Cristian Garin, Fabio Fognini, and Francisco Cerundolo, will join Fonseca in Miami, where he lives. “He should also be in Rio to help prepare for the clay court season,” Teixeira added. “He will be in the box with Joao and me for a few weeks throughout the year.”

Davin’s addition underscores Fonseca’s ambition to ascend to the summit of ATP rankings and challenge the sport’s elite.
