ATP 250 Buenos Aires 1/16-Finals
Schwartzman – Jarry: 12.02.2025 19:00 CEST
H2H: 4-2
Diego Schwartzman has won three of his last five matches. He retires this week at the Argentina Open in his hometown of Buenos Aires. Last week in Rosario, Diego played in a Challenger tournament, losing against Ugo Carabelli in the opening round. He wanted to prepare for ATP Buenos Aires, considering he has not played competitive matches since the US Open 2024. The former top-10 player had a great career and always fought until the end. He was granted a wild card this week.
Nicolas Jarry has lost three of his last five matches. The last match he played was at the Australian Open, losing against Sinner in the opening round. His last clay court match was at the Olympic Games last year, losing against Popyrin in the opening round. His biggest clay court result last season happened in Rome, where he finished as a runner-up and lost against Zverev in the final. It is his sixth appearance in Buenos Aires. Last season, Nicolas reached the final, losing against Diaz Acosta in straight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Schwartzman is the big underdog in this matchup, but we disagree. He prepared for the last couple of weeks. Diego played well last week under similar conditions. The packed crowd will be on his side, and we expect him to give his best in his last tournament and keep this match tight.
That being said, Schwartzman covering the games handicap is a value bet.

ATP 250 Buenos Aires 1/8-Finals
Baez – Seyboth Wild: 12.02.2025 22:00 CEST
H2H: 2-0
Sebastian Baez has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Rosario, Baez played at the Challenger tournament, losing in the semifinals against Dellien in three sets. This week in Buenos Aires, Sebastian won against Ugo Carabelli in straight sets. He trailed in the opening set 13 but successfully turned it around. It is his fifth appearance in Buenos Aires. Last season in Buenos Aires, Baez lost against Coria in the quarterfinals.
Thiago Seyboth Wild has lost four of his last five matches. So far this season, Thiago played three tournaments and lost in the opening round each time. He tried to find his form at the Challenger tournament in Quimper last month but also failed in the opening round. Yesterday, Thiago defeated Diaz Acosta in three tight sets in the ATP Buenos Aires opening round. After losing the opening set, Thiago stepped up his level and turned the match around. It is his fourth appearance in Buenos Aires. He has never made it past the first round.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Baez is the big favorite in this matchup, but we disagree. Seyboth Wild played amazing tennis yesterday in the second and third sets. Both are solid clay-court players, and we expect a tight match that could go either way.
That being said, Seyboth Wild covering the games handicap is a value bet.
