WTA Cluj-Napoca Semifinal Predictions Including Anastasia Potapova vs Aliaksandra Sasnovich

The semifinals are set at the WTA Transylvania Open in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and it’s a strong lineup of players. Top seed Anastasia Potapova is leading the way, but the rest of the field also has a good chance of making the finals. As always, we here at LWOT will offer our predictions for both the semifinal matches. But who will advance to the finals?

WTA Cluj-Napoca Semifinal Predictions

Katerina Siniakova vs Lucia Bronzetti

Head-to-Head: Siniakova 1-0 Bronzetti

Katerina Siniakova defeated Viktoriya Tomova in straight sets to reach her first semifinal of the season. It was the first straight-sets win for Siniakova this week as she converted her fifth match point. Siniakova hasn’t made a tour-level final since October 2023 and this is a great opportunity to do so.

Lucia Bronzetti has been in great touch this week and completely outplayed Elisabetta Cocciaretto in the quarterfinals. This is Bronzetti’s third tour-level semifinal on hard courts and first on indoors. She has served exceptionally well this week, and if she can keep that up, she has a good chance of reaching her first hard-court final. Siniakova won the last meeting between these two in straight sets but I think this would be a much closer match with the Italian edging it.
Prediction: Bronzetti in 3

Anastasia Potapova vs Aliaksandra Sasnovich

Head-to-Head: Potapova 0-1 Sasnovich

Anastasia Potapova is into her second Transylvania Open semifinal as she played a brilliant match to dispatch Ella Seidel in the quarterfinals. This was Potapova’s eighth win of the season and she has a wonderful opportunity to win the title here. Aliaksandra Sasnovich had to work significantly harder in her quarterfinal match against Anhelina Kalinina. She trailed for the majority of the match but maintained her composure and motivation to win in the end.

This is Sasnovich’s first hard-court semifinal since 2022 and she will be motivated to get another shot at winning a WTA title. However, she has already played a couple of long matches and Potapova should take advantage.
Prediction: Potapova in 3
