ATP Montpellier Day 2 Predictions Including Christopher Eubanks vs Alibek Kachmazov

It promises to be a great second day of action at the ATP Montpellier event – the Open Occitanie with a former Wimbledon quarterfinalist amongst the players getting their campaigns underway on the quick indoor courts in Montpellier. We here at LWOT are offering our predictions for every match, including Richard Gasquet vs Adrian Mannarino. But who will advance?

ATP Montpellier Day 2 Predictions

Tallon Griekspoor vs Botic van de Zandschulp

Head-to-head: Griekspoor 1-1 van de Zandschulp

Tallon Griekspoor’s flat hitting and variety should make his game a natural fit for indoor conditions. However, Griekspoor often struggles to find his best level at indoor tournaments. This pair two played doubles together at the Australian Open and doubtless know each other’s games very well. Overall, Botic van de Zandschulp, who has a better record indoors than his countryman, looks the likelier winner – but don’t be surprised if it turns out to be a close contest.

Prediction: van de Zandschulp in 3

Harold Mayot vs Arthur Rinderknech

Head-to-head: first meeting

Both Frenchmen have made slow starts to 2025. Having said that, Arthur Rinderknech put in an impressive effort against Frances Tiafoe during a five-set defeat to the American in the opening round of the Australian Open. Rinderknech’s game is also slightly better suited to indoor conditions slightly more than Harold Mayots, with some Rinderknech’s best results having come in similar conditions. If the 29-year-old can find his best tennis, or something close to it, he should have the edge here.

Christopher Eubanks vs Alibek Kachmazov

Head-to-head: first meeting

Christopher Eubanks may never recapture the form that memorably took him to the Wimbledon quarterfinal, but his game is better than what he showed for long periods of last season. He will need it to be here. Alibek Kachmazov played well in the qualifying and should not be underestimated. As is often the case in Eubanks’ matches, his serve will probably make the difference. While the courts in Montpellier are not particularly fast by the standards of indoor European hard courts, they are stil quick enough that a serve like Eubanks’ is a formidable weapon to have on an indoor court. Eubanks to prevail in two tight sets.

Prediction: Eubanks in 2
