WTA Linz Day 2 Predictions Including Clara Tauson vs Anhelina Kalinina

Some exciting and close first-round matches are scheduled on Day 2 of the WTA Linz Open. Seeded players like Dayana Yastremska, Anastasia Potapova, and Clara Tauson will be in action. As always, we at LWOT will offer predictions for every match on the slate. But which players will advance to the second round?

WTA Linz Day 2 Predictions

Rebecca Sramkova vs Elisabetta Cocciaretto

Head-to-Head: First meeting

Rebecca Sramkova was unlucky to face Iga Swiatek in the second round of the Australian Open but that experience should help her in future against the best players. Sramkova has been brilliant on hard courts in the last six months and will look to make another deep run this week. Elisabetta Cocciaretto is on a five-match losing streak and I don’t like her chances much on these fast courts.
Prediction: Sramkova in 3

Anastasia Potapova vs Julia Grabher

Head-to-Head: First meeting

Julia Grabher has a win percentage of 22% on hard courts, which is quite low, and Anastasia Potapova should easily win this match if she plays anywhere close to her best. If this match had been played on clay, where Grabher excels, the Russian player would have had a more difficult time. I am going with a straight sets win for Potapova.
Prediction: Potapova in 2

Dayana Yastremska vs Lucia Bronzetti

Head-to-Head: First meeting

Dayana Yastremska has made a solid start to the season and will look to continue that form this week. This is a great chance for the Ukrainian to improve her rankings. Apart from a great win against Victoria Azarenka, Bronzetti hasn’t enjoyed much success lately and only her best level will be good enough to trouble Yastremska.
Prediction: Yastremska in 3

Clara Tauson vs Anhelina Kalinina

Head-to-Head: First meeting

Clara Tauson is in great form and could have made a deep run at the Australian Open if she hadn’t faced Aryna Sabalenka in the third round. Her level is good enough to challenge for the title this week. Anhelina Kalinina is a solid player and has made a good start to the season but she can be very inconsistent with her level which won’t cut it against Tauson.
Prediction: Tauson in 2
