United Cup Day 6 Predictions: Great Britain vs Australia

This tie between Great Britain and Australia is the final group match of this year’s United Cup and both teams are in contention to qualify for the quarterfinals. Host Nation Australia has to win this tie to advance while Great Britain will still have a chance if they lose. As always, we at LWOT will offer our predictions for all three matches on the slate. But who will come out on top?

United Cup Day 6 Predictions: Great Britain vs Australia

Billy Harris vs Alex de Minaur

Head-to-Head: First meeting

Billy Harris put up a valiant effort against Tomas Martin Etcheverry but fell short. He will have another big task ahead of him against Alex de Minaur, but the pressure will most likely be on the Australian No.1. De Minaur played a clean match against Etcheverry and will be the favourite to win this without much fuss. However, I can see Harris stealing a set if he can serve well.
Prediction: de Minaur in 3

Katie Boulter vs Olivia Gadecki

Head-to-Head: First meeting

Katie Boulter began her new season with a straightforward win over Nadia Podoroska and should be the favorite against Olivia Gadecki, who lost in straight sets against Podoroska. Gadecki made a lot of unforced errors in her first match and won just 58% of first-serve points. This is a must-win tie for Australia and Gadecki will have to play at her best to have any chances of winning this. Boulter to win in straight sets is my prediction.
Prediction: Boulter in 2

Katie Boulter and Charles Broom vs Ellen Perez and Matthew Ebden

Head-to-Head: First meeting

Perez and Ebden were heavily beaten in their opening doubles match at this year’s United Cup and will be looking to rebound as they are excellent doubles players. Boulter and Broom were much more effective and efficient in their opening match and will look to replicate the performance. Perez and Ebden should bounce back, and the crowd support should help.
Prediction: Perez/Ebden in 3
