Jannik Sinner and Sebastian Baez are currently the best ranked players for Italy and Argentina. Sinner is the best player in the world right now, and has been absolutely dominant throughout the whole season. Last week in Turin, Jannik won the ATP Finals title, winning against Fritz in the final. This has been by far the best season for the young Italian. On the other hand, Baez has lost six straight matches. Baez never had any success on the fast hard courts such as this one. His last win was almost three months ago in New York, where he won his opening match against Darderi in four sets. Being an Argentine, Baez had his biggest results on the slow clay courts.
We expect Sinner to completely dominate from the very start, and win this match easily. Jannik is currently the best player in the world, and we believe that Baez will have no chance against him.
That being said, we expect Sinner to get the first win for Italy.

2nd potential matchup:
Musetti – Cerundolo
Lorenzo Musetti and Francisco Cerundolo are currently the second best ranked players for Italy and Argentina. Lorenzo Musetti has won three of his last five matches. His last match was almost a month ago in Paris, where he lost in the opening round against Struff in straight sets. Before that, Lorenzo had a solid tournament in Vienna, where he reached the semifinals. So far this season, Musetti has had some solid results, such as reaching the semifinals at Wimbledon and winning the bronze medal in the Olympic Games. Francisco Cerundolo has won three of his last five matches. Two weeks ago, Cerundolo played in Belgrade, where he lost his quarterfinal match against Medjedovic in straight sets. Similar to Baez, being an Argentine, Cerundolo had his biggest results on the clay courts. However, he can also perform on indoor hard courts such as this one. So far this season, Cerundolo has not had many remarkable results. His biggest result was winning the title in Umag, where he defeated Musetti in the final.
We believe that Musetti is a better hard-court player than Cerundolo at that moment. Musetti showed us this season that he can perform well under pressure, which was not the case in previous years. We believe that he will dominate in this match, and win the second match for Italy, which will be enough for them to qualify into the semifinals.
That being said, we expect Musetti to get the second win for Italy.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, team Italy are the big favorites in this matchup, and we agree with that. We believe that they are the biggest favorites to win the Davis Cup title this season. We expect them to get the job done after the first two singles matches, so there will be no need to predict the doubles.
That being said, Italy winning 2-0 is a value bet.
