Day 4 at the ATP 250 event in Almaty will feature the conclusion of the second round, with several exciting matches in prospect between some high-level players, including Tomas Machac, who reached the semifinals in Shanhgai last week beating Carlos Alcaraz on the way, taking on home hope Beibit Zhukayev, who has impressed so far this week.

ATP Almaty Day 4 Predictions

Beibit Zhukayev vs Tomas Machac

Head-to-head: first meeting

Machac had a great week in Shanghai, proving that he can rise a lot higher in the rankings and compete for big titles. As well as Zhukayev played in the first round here in front of his home crowd, at this point and given his current levels of confidence and momemum Machac will be incredibly hard to stop here and is one of the favorites to win the tournament even.
Prediction: Machac in 2

Karen Khachanov vs Otto Virtanen

Head-to-head: first meeting

Khachanov has been struggling quite a bit lately, but Virtanen himself was on a huge losing streak before beating Fognini in the first round here. In general, Khachanov is clearly the higher level player of the two and will be looking at this tournament as a great opportunity to finally get some success after some very tough months results and performance-wise.

Aleksandar Vukic vs Adrian Mannarino

Head-to-head: Mannarino 2-1 Vukic

Mannarino needs a really strong end to the season to keep his ranking afloat and he played like a man who knows it in his first round here. Vukic will be another very difficult opponent but Mannarino has proved many times that he can play quite well in these conditions and has a very good chance to continue his run here.
Prediction: Mannarino in 3

Dan Evans vs Frances Tiafoe

Head-to-head: Tiafoe 5-4 Evans

Tiafoe made the news for the wrong reasons last week and has generally struggled to perform at a high level outside U.S. soil, but he still should have the edge in this matchup all things considered. Evans is a highly inconsistent player who keeps his ranking up thanks to some good runs here and there throughout the year. Under normal circumstances, Tiafoe should pull through here.
Prediction: Tiafoe in 3
