Canada – Great Britain: 15.09.2024 14:00 CEST
H2H: 1-1
1st potential matchup:
Felix Auger-Aliassime – Jack Draper
Felix and Sebastian are the best ranked players for Canada and Great Britain. This meeting will be played indoors on hard. Felix loves to play on the fast indoor hard courts. Felix won his opening match against Baez in straight sets as we predicted. After that, Auger-Aliassime defeated Virtanen in straight sets as we predicted as well. Draper is playing his best tennis at the moment. He reached the semifinals at the US Open last week, where he lost against Sinner in straight sets. Jack lost his opening match against Cerundolo in straight sets.
That being said, we believe that Draper is in better form currently, and that he will step up for Great Britain and get the first win for his country.
2nd potential matchup:
Denis Shapovalov – Billy Harris
Denis and Francisco are the second best ranked players for Canada and Great Britain. Shapovalov lost his first round match at the US Open against Van de Zandschulp in straight sets. Shapovalov is still trying to find his best form. Denis won both of his opening matches in straight sets as we predicted. Harris has been playing consistently throughout the whole season. He is looking to get into the top 100 in the rankings. Billy had his best results on the grass courts. He loves to play fast tennis, so this should be a perfect surface for him. Harris won his opening match at the Davis Cup against Virtanen in straight sets.
That being said, we believe that Shapovalov will be a better player on the indoor hard court tomorrow. Even though he is not in his best form, Shapovalov is still a better and more experienced player than Harris.
We believe that Shapovalov will get the first win for Canada.

3rd potential matchup:
Shapovalov/Pospisil – Evans/Skupski
We expect Canada and Argentina to play their doubles like this. Pospisil is a very solid doubles player. Denis already played with two different partners at this year’s Davis Cup. In their opening match, Denis and Pospisil lost against Gonzalez and Molteni in three tight sets. After that, Shapovalov played with Auger-Aliassime, and won against the Finns in straight sets. Evans and Skupski lost in their opening match against Heliovaara and Virtanen in straight sets. Their chemistry seemed off in that match. However, they redeemed themselves in their second match against Gonzalez and Molteni, where they won in straight sets and showed great tennis.
We believe that Evans and Skupski are way more experienced doubles players than Shapovalov and Pospisil. We expect them to dominate from the very start, and win the deciding match for Great Britain.
Best Bet to Make
We believe that it will all go down to the doubles’ matchup. Both countries have respectable singles players. However, Evans and Skupski have that chemistry and experience which is much-needed in the deciding matches, so we believe that they will close out this meeting with a win for Great Britain.
Great Britain winning 2-1 is a value bet.
