Jordan Thompson has won four of his last five matches. So far in New York, Jordan has not lost a single set. In the first round, Thompson defeated Lestienne in easy straight sets. After that, in the second round, Hurkacz had no answer to Thompson’s game. Jordan won once again in straight sets. In the third round, Arnaldi had his chances in the first set, but did not convert them. After that, it was a one-sided match. This has been his best season. Jordan won his maiden title this year in Los Cabos and made his debut in the top 30.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, de Minaur is the big favorite in this matchup. Jordan has had an excellent tournament so far, and we believe that he will have a decent chance against de Minaur tomorrow. Alex had some fitness problems before the US Open, so that should also go in Jordan’s favor.
That being said, Thompson covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Nuno Borges has won three of his last five matches. Here in New York, Nuno dominated against Coria from the very start, and won in straight sets. Borges lost his serve twice, but both times broke back right away. After that, in the second round, Borges defeated Kokkinakis in straight sets as well. Yesterday in the third round, Borges defeated Mensik in five tight sets as we predicted. Nuno is looking for a solid result here to get in his top 30 spots. Last year at the US Open, Borges lost in the first round against Ofner in four tight sets.
Daniil Medvedev has won three of his last five matches. Medvedev won his opening match against Lajovic in four sets. After that, in the second round, Medvedev won against Marozsan in straight sets as we predicted. His third round match against Cobolli went smoothly as well. Medvedev defeated Cobolli in straight sets as we predicted. Daniil loves to play in New York. He won his only Grand Slam title here in 2021. He was also runner-up twice, once in 2019, and the second time last year, when he lost against Novak Djokovic.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Daniil is the big favorite in this matchup, and we agree with that. Borges spent a lot of time on the court in his third round match, so he will definitely feel it on the court. Medvedev has had an almost perfect tournament so far, and he tends to play his best tennis in New York.
That being said, Medvedev winning in straight sets is a value bet.
