ATP US Open Best Bets Including Rune vs Nakashima

Holger Rune ATP Indian Wells BNP Paribas Open

ATP US Open 1/64-Finals

Djere – Struff: 26.08.2024 22:00 CEST
H2H: 1-2

Laslo Djere has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Winston-Salem, Laslo lost his first round match against Svajda in straight sets. It was overall a poor performance from the Serbians. This was also his first hard court match since the Masters tournament in Miami in March. So far this season, Djere has played five hard court matches, and has a losing 1-4 record. He also had some fitness issues this season which led to him dropping out of the top 100 in the rankings. Last year in New York, Djokovic reached the third round where he lost against Djokovic in five tough sets.

Jan-Lennard Struff has lost three of his last five matches. Last week in Cincinnati, Struff lost in the first round against Tsitsipas in three tight sets. This was also his first hard court tournament since the Masters tournament in Miami. So far this season, Struff has had the biggest results on clay. However, he is yet to have a solid result on the hard courts. Last year, Struff did not play at the US Open due to an injury.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Struff is the big favorite in this matchup. Looking at their current form, we can say that Jan is in better form than Djere. He is also a better hard-court player, so we believe that he will dominate from the very start against Djere.

That being said, Struff covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Value bet/ the best odds: Jan-Lennard Struff -5.5 games handicap @1.83 @bet365

Rune – Nakashima: 26.08.2024 23:00 CEST
H2H: 0-2

Holger Rune has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Cincinnati, Holger reached the semifinals where he lost against Tiafoe in three tight sets. It was a solid tournament preparation for Holger, who is looking to have a solid tournament here in New York. The former world number 4 parted ways with his coach, Patrick Mouratouglou, recently. Rune had a rough season so far with constant fitness issues, which led to him getting out of the top 10 in the rankings. Last year in New York, Rune lost in the first round against Carballes Baena in four sets.

Brandon Nakashima has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Cincinnati, Nakashima reached the 1/8-Finals, when he lost against Rublev in straight sets. En route to the 1/8-Finals, Brandon won against Fritz and Fils, who are solid hard-court players. At the beginning of the season, Nakashima spent most of his time at the challenger tour level. However, his consistent tennis pushed him back into the top 50. Last year at the US Open, Brandon lost his first round match against Djere in straight sets.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Rune is the slight favorite in this matchup. Holger loves to play on the biggest stage, and had a solid last two weeks. We believe that he is overall a better player than Brandon, and that he should win here comfortably.

That being said, Rune winning is a value bet.
