As always, we here at LastWordOnTennis will predict all matches for you. We split the 14 matches into four articles. The other articles feature Barbora Krejcikova vs Sara Sorribes Tormo, Jessica Pegula vs Viktoriya Golubic, and Coco Guaff vs Ajla Tomljanovic. Paris Olympics Women’s Day 2 Predictions
Mirra Andreeva (Neutral) vs Magda Linette (Poland)
Yesh
Linette played in the Prague final on Friday, making an already tough ask even tougher. The rising Russian star reached the semifinals of the French Open here two months ago, and she seems poised to replicate that this week.
Prediction: Andreeva in 2
Jordan
Both women won a tournament on clay the day before this matchup. Linette’s greater energy might make the difference. She blew away Magdalena Frech in the Prague final, while Andreeva had a long match against Elina Avanesyan. Recovering so quickly afterward will be tough for the teenager.

Maria Sakkari (Greece) vs Danka Kovinic (Montenegro)

Sakkari isn’t quite at her Top 10 self anymore, and the confidence often seems to be gone. When it’s there, though, she can play with anyone. She has a rare combination of power and movement that should make her among the game’s elite if she can ever put it at all together.
Prediction: Sakkari in 3
Jordan
It is tough to ever fully trust Sakkari to avoid an upset. Her last appearance at Roland-Garros ended in a shock loss to Varvara Gracheva. Her game on clay at its best is far superior to Kovinic’s though, and even a patchy performance would be good enough to get the job done.

Caroline Wozniacki (Denmark) vs Mayar Sherif (Egypt)

Is this Wozniacki’s final Olympics? Probably. How far can she go? I’m not sure, but she looked in solid form this past month, which probably means pretty far.
Prediction: Wozniacki in 2
Jordan
This is a really difficult opening match for Wozniacki. Before her loss to Ajla Tomljanovic in Palermo, Sherif had reached the final in her previous four clay-court events, excluding the French Open. The Dane has not played on the dirt since the Madrid Open in April, and overcoming a specialist on the surface will be a tough ask.
