ATP Umag Semifinal Predictions Including Andrey Rublev vs Francisco Cerundolo

Andrey Rublev Australian Open

This Friday at the ATP Croatia Open in Umag will feature the two semifinal matches. Considering the Olympics are about to start in a few days, Umag has a very impressive field of players remaining, led by a top 10 player and current Madrid champion in Andrey Rublev. It has been a very entertaining tournament so far and it should remain that way, with all four players having a very realistic chance of claiming this trophy.

ATP Umag Semifinal Predictions

Jakub Mensik vs Lorenzo Musetti

Head-to-head: first meeting

Mensik has already secured a new career high ranking and is now trying to replicate what Carlos Alcaraz did in 2021: winning a first career title in Umag at the age of 18. He won’t have an easy task at all, however, as Musetti has been playing some exceptional tennis lately, reaching the semifinals at Wimbledon and playing some very good tennis so far in Umag as well. All things considered, it should be a very tight match, but Musetti has a slight edge based on his superior experience at this level.
Prediction: Musetti in 3

Andrey Rublev vs Francisco Cerundolo

Head-to-head: Rublev 1-1 Cerundolo

Rublev has been struggling a lot ever since he won the title in Madrid, but he’s finally back to the deep stages of an ATP tournament here. He’s been a consistent feature in the top 10 for a long time now and has made a living of dominating this kind of events. Cerundolo hasn’t exactly been playing great recently and he would most likely need to play close to his best to beat Rublev in a match like this. Their semifinal in Bastad last year was very exciting and close, though, and the same should be the case here. Ultimately, Rublev should be able to come through and finally get some momentum back after a very disappointing few months.
Prediction: Rublev in 3
