ATP Kitzbuhel Semifinal Predictions Including Matteo Berrettini vs Yannick Hanfmann

Matteo Berrettini Australian Open

The ATP Generali Open in Kitzbuhel is all set for an exciting close as just the four men remain to contest for the all-important trophy. The semifinal lineup is one without any seeded players and that makes this week extremely unpredictable but highly exciting. As ever, we at LWOT preview and predict both the semifinal clashes for you.

ATP Kitzbuhel Semifinal Predictions

Facundo Diaz Acosta vs Hugo Gaston

Head to head – Acosta 0-1 Gaston

Facundo Diaz Acosta has had a fantastic week yet again here in Kitzbuhel, Austria. The Argentine has been stretched to three sets in all his matches this week but has dominated in the deciding set to finish strongly. The 23-year-old is solid from the baseline and has served decently thus far.

Hugo Gaston came through a marathon match in his quarterfinal clash with Sebastian Baez and it’s left to be seen how he manages to recover for another potential long match with Acosta. Expect the Argentine to dominate this match and take full advantage of a fatigued Gaston.
Prediction: Diaz Acosta in 3

Matteo Berrettini vs Yannick Hanfmann

Head to head – First Meeting

Yannick Hanfmann is again proving what an incredible player he is at the 250 series events as the German is playing the dark horse role perfectly yet again. He has breezed through most of his matches this week and has posted pretty healthy numbers on serve.

He now faces Matteo Berrettini, who seems to be peaking just in time for the Olympics. He has played at least a tiebreaker in every match this week but the Italian is yet to drop a set. Berrettini does play exceedingly well on the clay courts and that has been in full display this week. Expect Hanfmann to make a swift start but as Berrettini finds his range especially on his serve and forehand, the Italian should be reaching yet another final post his injury.
Prediction: Berrettini in 3
