ATP Gstaad Best Bets Including Berrettini vs Cachin

Matteo Berrettini Australian Open

ATP 250 Gstaad 1/16-Finals

Halys – Gasquet: 16.07.2024 10:30 CEST
H2H: first meeting

Quentin Halys has won four of his last five matches. Here in Gstaad, Halys fought through the qualifying tournament and got into the main-draw. In the first qualifying round, Halys defeated Fonio in three sets. After that, Halys won against Moreno de Alboran in straight sets. Before that, Halys reached the third round at Wimbledon where he lost against Holger Rune in five tough sets as we predicted. So far this season, Halys has not have any remarkable results on clay. Halys needs a good result here if he wants to keep his spot in the top 200.

Richard Gasquet has lost three of his last five matches. Last week in Trieste, Gasquet lost in the first round against Vincent Ruggeri in straight sets. Gasquet looked terrible on court, and his on-court movement also did not look great. So far this season, Richard has not had any remarkable results. He is 38 years old, and his body is not keeping up with the competitive level anymore. Last time Richard played in Gstaad was in 2022, where he lost against Berrettini in the second round of the tournament.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, this should be a 50-50 match. Halys has already played two matches here in Gstaad, and looked good. On the other hand, Gasquet is completely out of form. We believe that Halys will win this match easily.

That being said, Halys winning is a value bet.

Berrettini – Cachin: 16.07.2024 12:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting

Matteo Berrettini has lost three of his last five matches. The last match he played was at Wimbledon, where he lost against Jannik Sinner in the second round in four tight sets as we predicted. His last clay court match was in Monte Carlo, where he lost against Kecmanovic in the first round. Before that match, Kecmanovic won the title in Marrakech. So far this season, Berrettini has won five of the six clay court matches he has played. Last time he played in Gstaad was in 2022, where he lost against Casper Ruud in the final.

Pedro Cachin has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Braunschweig, Cachin reached the semifinal where he lost against Van de Zandschulp in three sets. So far this season, Cachin has spent most of the time playing at the challenger tour level. Cachin is the defending champion here in Gstaad. On his title run, Cachin had some big wins, such as one against Bautista-Agut. That was also his only title that he won at the ATP tour level. At this moment, Cachin is far away from that level.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Berrettini is the huge favorite in this matchup. Matteo looked great this season on the clay courts. He is a way better player than Cachin, so we believe that he will win this match confidently.

That being said, Berrettini winning in straight sets is a value bet.
