ATP Stuttgart Day 2 Predictions including Lorenzo Musetti vs Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard

Lorenzo Musetti in action.

With the grass court season as short as it is, players look to get as many grass tournaments under their belts before heading to Wimbledon. ATP Stuttgart has a star studded line up on Day 2, and Day 1 held very few surprises. Here at LWOT we look ahead to four of the matches, as the warmup to the next Grand Slam builds. Will there be any shocks or surprises on Day 2. We also look at the rest of the day’s matches in a separate article.

ATP Stuttgart Day 2 Predictions

Flavio Cobolli vs Jan-Lennard Struff

Flavio Cobolli has never qualified for Wimbledon. The Italian will be looking to get some grass form going, and Stuttgart is his starting point. Jan-Lennard Struff is starting his grass campaign on home turf and as the seventh seed will want to go far. The German had a win loss ratio on grass last season of 5-2, but did not make Wimbledon. Struff should get through this match
Prediction: Struff in 2

Christopher Eubanks vs Brandon Nakashima

Head to Head: 1-1

Christopher Eubanks is the better grass court player of this all-American clash. Eubanks won the ATP 250 event in Mallorca last season, so will be looking to defend points here in Stuttgart. Brandon Nakashima has not won a main tour title since 2022, or reached a final. Nakashima prefers the hard courts, so could well struggle here against his compatriot.
Prediction: Eubanks in 2

Arthur Rinderknech vs Alex Michelsen

Head to Head: 0-0

Arthur Rinderknech has the experience in this match up. The Frenchman has been at Wimbledon the last 3 years. Unfortunately, he didn’t progress further than the first round. Alex Michelsen is new to the main tour. His first Grand Slam was on home soil in U.S.A. and he got to the second round. Although he is young, the American has the time to learn on the surface and could spring a surprise on the experienced grass courter.
Prediction: Michelsen in 3

Lorenzo Musetti vs Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard

Head to Head: 0-0

Lorenzo Musetti is the seventh seed and favorite here. The Italian has played at Wimbledon and made the third round last season. Musetti is not to bad on this surface. Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard has not played Wimbledon yet, but by entering Stuttgart is looking to get off to a good start. With 30 ranking places between them, and the Frenchman having qualified, this will be a great match. Musetti should have the edge, but never count out a qualifier.
Prediction: Musetti in 3
