Grigor Dimitrov vs Hubert Hurkacz
Head-to-head: Dimitrov 4-0
This is quite an eye-catching head-to-head record, but does it tell the whole story? Their first three matches were literally decided via tie-breaks, Grigor Dimitrov claiming two deciders in Indian Wells and Monte Carlo plus winning 7-6 7-6 in Rotterdam. All it tells us is that Hubert Hurkacz isn’t as hopeless in this rivalry as it might seem. This should be tight, but maybe Dimitrov can indeed edge ahead in the key moments. Especially with Hurkacz this week playing very cautiously in the tie-breaks against Alexander Shevchenko and Sebastian Korda.

Alex de Minaur vs Fabian Marozsan
Head-to-head: Marozsan 1-0
Fabian Marozsan has a phenomenal record in ATP 1000 events, going 3-1 against the Top 10, scoring his all four Top 20 wins, and reaching the fourth round at least in all four appearances. One of these high-profile scalps was Alex de Minaur, whom he managed to take down in Shanghai last year. Everything is clear about this matchup with both players knowing what to expect. Marozsan will again be attacking relentlessly and if he can keep executing his game so well, he might grab another stunning win.

Alexander Zverev vs Karen Khachanov
Head-to-head: Zverev 3-2
It’s kind of surprising that it’s been almost three years since they last played each other (and in such a high-profile match back then, the Tokyo Olympics final). They remain among the most consistent performers on tour though, so this rivalry was bound to make its return at some point. Who’s the favorite here? Perhaps a slight edge should be granted for Alexander Zverev, who’s been better across the Sunshine Double and hasn’t played a match as shaky as Karen Khachanov against Francisco Cerundolo in the previous round.

Carlos Alcaraz vs Lorenzo Musetti
Head-to-head: Alcaraz 3-1
Lorenzo Musetti has been showing some of the best fast-court tennis we’ve seen from him this week. He’s defending but with an active mindset and utilizing his variety/shotmaking expertly. But it will be enough for Carlos Alcaraz? This rivalry once featured some excellent matches (Trieste Challenger semifinal, Hamburg ATP 500 final), but last year the Spaniard delivered a couple of blowouts, including their only hard-court meeting so far. Musetti playing like this will come closer, but can he win? Somewhat unlikely.
