ATP Winston-Salem Day 4 Predictions Including Borna Coric vs Michael Mmoh

Borna Coric Western & Southern Open

It’s a stacked schedule on Wednesday at the 2023 Winston-Salem Open with all singles round of 16 matches coming up. 2nd seed Tallon Griekspoor plays Max Purcell, while the highest-ranked player in the field, Borna Coric, faces a tough challenge with Michael Mmoh awaiting him on the other side of the net. Who do you think will make the quarterfinals?

ATP Winston-Salem Day 4 Predictions

Aleksandar Vukic vs Sebastian Baez

Head-to-head: First meeting

Beating Daniel Elahi Galan puts Sebastian Baez on a six-match win streak, but the previous five came on the clay in Kitzbuhel. Here in Winston-Salem, it’s Aleksandar Vukic who’ll be the favorite. The Australian is enjoying a very good summer and holding up on the main tour better than anyone thought he would with the third round in Toronto and Atlanta. He doesn’t have to win this one, but he’s got the weapons to be pretty comfortable if he uses them correctly.

Prediction: Vukic in 2

Max Purcell vs Tallon Griekspoor

Head-to-head: First meeting

After all his Challenger efforts in the first half of the year, Max Purcell slowed down a bit around June when he also got injured. But now the serve-and-volleying and slicing Australian has sort of adjusted to the main tour and is coming off making the quarterfinals in Cincinnati. Tallon Griekspoor remains the favorite, but Dan Evans recently got to him with a slice-heavy playstyle and the Dutchman will need to show that he’s learned his lesson.

Prediction: Griekspoor in 3

Marton Fucsovics vs Sebastian Korda

Head-to-head: First meeting

Back at Queen’s Club, it seemed like Sebastian Korda was already back to his January form. But his results have been disappointing since and he really needs another run sometime soon. He took out Benjamin Bonzi, but Marton Fucsovics will provide a different challenge. If the Hungarian can play with his best intensity and utilize the slice effectively, he might make a very tough opponent for the talented American.

Prediction: Fucsovics in 3

Borna Coric vs Michael Mmoh

Head-to-head: First meeting

Michael Mmoh was out with an injury between March and May, but very soon after coming back he began showing how much progress he’s made again. The American’s first serve is miles better now than it was a few years back, which kind of ties his whole game together. Borna Coric doesn’t seem like a matchup that suits him naturally, but he’ll be able to stick around in the rallies and ask the Croat some tough questions. The upset seems very possible.

Prediction: Mmoh in 3
